New Mexico business owners are invited to a kickoff event at University Arena (The Pit), 1111 University Blvd. SE on August 9 from 8:30am to 3:30pm, where they may ?learn how to build their own website, as well as attend sessions devoted to growing and promoting their businesses online.?
According to Google, 97% of Americans look online for local products and services, but only 53% of New Mexico small businesses have a website or online presence. The marketing opportunity offered by the internet is obvious.
The program?s website features pictures of smiling young people in Google t-shirts standing over the shoulders of older folks sitting at computers. The site includes instructional videos that break down the very basics of using the internet in terms a brand new web user can easily understand. In addition, it offers a workbook that you can print and fill out to help focus what you hope to accomplish with your new website.
If after reading this, you still are not convinced that it makes sense to put your business online, there are various stories of businesses that have made the web work for them. One Get Your Business Online user said that not the internet but Google has ?pretty much replaced the phone book these days.? Indeed, in the blogger?s opinion, getting website startup assistance from Google assures you that you will be up to date with the very latest trends in business websites.
Another GYBO user said, ?it seems to me like [GYBO] out for us, and that?s just wonderful. You don?t find that these days.? Indeed, Google is such an institution on the internet that it makes sense for it to invest in the general health of the internet, as the health of the internet to a large extent is the health of Google.
So get on the gravy train and get your business online with Google, or face the real possibility of getting left behind by progress.
