Newly diagnosed awaiting treatment plan - Breast Cancer Group ...

Hi all

I went to the hospital on xmas eve after going to the doctors the week before, after finding a lump on my right breast, and unusual looking skin to the side of my boob, i was told there and then that i had breast cancer ?,i'm 46 years old .47 in April

I was sent for a mammogram and some biopsies, because it was Christmas it took a little longer for the results of the tests to come back, i was told that I would be having Chemotherapy and would be losing my breast all in the very first meeting at the hospital, i was in shock, I finally went back on the 14th of Jan to be told that i needed more biopsies so the next day, had some more biopsies and another mammogram, this time they used the machine on my left breast to take biopsy from it, This Monday i am due back to find out my treatment plan, the Macmillan nurse did tell me they were thinking chemo first to try shrink my lump in the right breast. i'm still waiting for the results of the more recent biopsy. l'm also booked in for a CT scan on the 28th Jan. On one hand i feel that its going too slow and i want it out of me Now, but on the other hand its suddenly taken over my very normal life.

My husband was told about the Cold cap which sounds promising, i think its worth a try. is it worth taking some heat pads as it sounds ?like it may be very cold.

if anyone has any advice, i would be more than grateful as i feel there is so much more needed to know and no one knows better than one who has been or is going through the same situation.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

Regards

?Karen
