Do you know that advertising has always existed since ancient times? Yes, it is true. The Romans for example, would assign spokespersons to visit caliphs and cities and broadcast their newly-formed laws. Jesus, through word-of-mouth and his disciples, broadcast a new principle for people to be freed from slavery. With the invention of the printing press and the television in the late 19th century and early 20th century, mass production of materials has made advertising more accessible to people from different locations with different social backgrounds.

Later on, other forms of technology immersed making information more accessible to the public. These days, the internet has contributed much in promoting products in very inexpensive costs. Even with these new ways, one can still combine traditional and recent strategies to advertise business. In doing so, one should consider factors that make a strategy appropriate for a given situation and a targeted market.

Radio Advertising
Despite higher forms of technology, the radio is still an effective way to advertise business especially when targeting a group of people with similar demographic characteristics and tastes. Also, the radio is a handy tool where one can listen information even while driving, doing the dishes or working on an important office task.

Print Advertising
Some people consider buying a newspaper or magazine and looking at the classifieds to look for jobs, cheap land deals and other services. Yes, even with the Internet as a competitor, newspapers still maintain that professional reputation which ensures their readership. Thus, it is still a good avenue to advertise. However, one should expect more expensive costs for print advertising.

Online Advertising
There are lots of forms of internet advertising. Some would focus on the power of social media sites in getting the attention of friends to look at a page or blogs written for a particular product. Others had also found their luck in Search Optimization strategies wherein one focuses on the site?s algorithms, popular keywords, relevant articles and helpful videos to drive traffic on a site. Aside from the purchases that costumers had made, other advertisers and search engines may also give you commissions. Affiliate marketing is also another way to advertise business in the web. When you are an affiliate, you are endorsing a product and getting commissions from the sales you have made.

In-store advertising
Some companies would also send their agents to promote their products in the form of product samples, leaflets and personal conversations with the agent. This is effective among supermarkets and department stores where thousands of people would go.

It is erroneous to say that there is a best way to advertise business. There will always be factors that will affect the successful transmittal of information and decisions of consumers. One must always consider these factors before investing for an advertising strategy.
