Collier County has some 700 miles of shoreline, and around 120 marinas, many offering boat and water sports equipment rentals. Scuba diving is another popular pastime.
There are also plenty of cruising and sailing clubs, including the Naples Sailing & Yacht Club, the Naples Cruise Club, Gulf Coast Sailing Club and the Naples Yacht Club. Regattas are held year-round.
Canoeing is also a favorite sport, culminating in one of the most popular local activities, the Great Dock Canoe Race held each spring at Crayton Cove.
The Collier County Tax Collector collects registration fees for all boats which are domiciled in Florida. For original registration a title is required. The registration cost is based on the length of the boat.
